The Gardens Assisted Living is a Residential Care Facility consisting of 39 apartments and is designed to accommodate active seniors whose primary need is socialization and supervision, but who may need assistance with activities of daily living. At The Gardens Assisted Living, our single and double occupancy apartments are unfurnished one bedroom apartments designed to accommodate individuals or couples. The Gardens Assisted Living Apartment amenities include: spacious economy or full kitchens, living room, bed room, bath room with walk-in shower, individual air conditioning/heating unit and generous storage space. As an added benefit, 3 of our single occupancy apartments at The Gardens Assisted Living are equipped with special handicap features that enable wheelchair residents to maneuver about their apartment with greater ease. At The Gardens Assisted Living, we create a home-like atmosphere that helps residents feel comfortable and encourages socialization. Common areas are located throughout The Gardens Assisted Living facility and are available for resident use any time of the day. Click here for virtual tour Residents are encouraged to eat their meals in The Gardens fine dining room and enjoy coffee together in the morning or afternoon. Religious services are available weekly for group worship or residents can enjoy quiet prayer time in The Gardens Assisted Living Chapel. Residents enjoy group exercise classes in our spacious living room and meeting up with friends for ice cream in our old-fashioned Soda Shoppe. The Gardens Assisted living residents are encouraged to borrow a book from our community library and curl up on the couch for a good read or enjoy a variety of salon services in our on-site beauty salon. Social programming is a priority at The Gardens Assisted Living. We understand that healthy seniors are active seniors. That is why The Gardens Activity Director develops a monthly activity calendar with our residents’ interests in mind. A monthly newsletter including a calendar of events is posted on The Gardens Assisted Living facility bulletin board, distributed to each resident, and a model calendar is posted on our website. On-site activities include: religious services, monthly birthday parties, socials, card games, bingo, resident council meetings, speaker programs, etc. Transportation is provided for any off-site activity such as: shopping, joy rides, theater, picnics, etc. The Gardens Assisted Living facility residents are personally invited to each scheduled activity and encouraged to attend.
With the help of The Gardens Resident Services Director, each assisted living facility resident at The Gardens designs their own unique service plan. Once the service plan is completed, The Gardens Assisted Living resident is assigned a level of care and services are charged accordingly. Click here to view rate information Residents who choose to be independent in their ADLs and seek limited Assisted Living services such as: social activities, 1 meal a day, housekeeping, non-emergency medical transportation and emergency assistance will be considered "Independent”. Residents who choose assistance with ADLs and/or seek expanded services such as: social activities, 3 meals a day, laundry/housekeeping, non-emergency transportation and 24 hour scheduled or "on-demand” assistance will be considered "Assisted”. At The Gardens Assisted Living, we offer 3 levels of assistance (Level I, Level II and Level III). The level of Assisted Living assistance is determined by an assessment tool used during The Gardens pre-admission screening process which calculates an overall score based on the resident’s assistance needs. The Gardens Assisted Living facility resident’s service plan is fluid and changes when the needs of the resident changes. A review of each of The Gardens resident’s service plan occurs as needed, but at least every quarter. Facility managers, i.e. Dietary, Activity and Nursing, meet with our residents and their families upon admission and quarterly to review the service plan, resolve problems and receive input on resident Assisted Living satisfaction.
Temporary Stays - If a senior needs temporary housing while recovering from an illness or surgery, short term stays are available at The Gardens Assisted Living (2 week minimum). The Gardens "Recovery Suite” is a comfortable, beautifully furnished apartment with all the amenities of home. During this temporary stay at The Gardens, the resident will receive nutritious meals, medication assistance, transportation to doctor appointments, social programming, 24 hour ADL assistance and nursing supervision.
